PASTORAL SUPPORT

PASTORAL SUPPORT

An outstanding feature of IES is the supportive relationships that exist between students and staff, and between the students themselves. We are very proud of the excellent care, guidance and support we offer, and on leaving IES, students and their families regularly comment on the tremendous help and encouragement they received from their peers and teachers.

Ongoing relationships with teachers, the close personal attention given to students by specialist staff and a well-structured system of pastoral care, mean that our knowledge of each student’s abilities and aptitudes is exceptional. This enables us to provide all students with personalized academic and pastoral support which is a key ingredient in their high levels of achievement. In school the class teacher provides strong pastoral support, while in the senior school, each child has a form tutor who they see at least once a day. The Form Tutor gets to know the students well, and provides support and guidance throughout the year. Regular assemblies and occasional whole school assemblies, explore different themes and the school’s PHSE (Personal Health and Social Education) programme underpins key elements of pastoral care. Further support is available from our excellent Student Services team.
